The House takes a symbolic "show vote" Tuesday on raising the debt ceiling. It is expected to fail, with all Republicans and many Democrats voting against it. Both sides have decided they cannot raise the debt ceiling without accompanying spending cuts. But Democrats face a no-win situation: If they vote yes, they'll be accused of only wanting to run up more debt. If they vote no, they'll have to square that with having earlier demanded a "clean" vote on the debt ceiling. Meanwhile, the Biden bipartisan group continues looking for a real debt ceiling and deficit reduction deal.
